I have several lines in my CC Most Wanted Families. Sure hope I'm not
getting greedy posting more then one. Including my FITZWATER (I have
info back to the mid 1600s) line previously posted, I have SMYSOR /
SCHMISSER / SMISER many variations on this spelling, ISHAM, BROWN,
PARKER.
My Isham line had two young men that went into the Civil War from
Clermont Co. Oren (age 17) and his brother, David C. Isham (age 23)
entered the Ohio 89th Infantry on Aug. 12, 1862 for 3 years. Oren was
honorably discharged from the Civil War on June 7, 1865 in Washington
DC. David and Oren went in together. One went home the other didn't.
David was captured at the Battle of Chichamugwa and taken prisoner to
Andersonville Prison where he died. I've only recently found out of
David's existence. Would love to find someone else in CC that connects
to this line. I have the Isham line back to the 1600s, but haven't
been able to get much info of their life in CC., Ohio.

Ruth Brown 1802 - 1854 b: October 14, 1802 in Kentucky
... +David Smiser 1795 - 1872 b: October 14, 1795 in Harrison Co.,
Kentucky (I have family info back to 1600s)
Ruth Louisa Smiser 1840 - 1916 b: June 06, 1840 in Milford, Ohio
David and Ruth were married by James Jones, M.G. (CCMR vip130)
Harrison Co., KY . They are buried at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford,
Clermont Co., OH.
About David's father, Phillip Smiser:
"History of Clermont Co., Ohio", Louis H. Evers, 1880, J.B. Lipponcott
and Co., Phila.
".....In 1798, Phillip settled on the farm now occupied by his
grandson George W. where he died. He had sons, David, John, Abraham by
his first wife; sons Philip, Henry, Jacob and Wesley and 3 daughters
by his second wife...."
Would love to hear from anyone connecting to any of these families.
Many folks, including "the best of the best", Herman Fagley, Bob Orr
and Marilyn Coalla, have been searching the roots of our Thomas Brown
who was supposedly given a land grant of 100 acres in Clermont Co. As
best I can tell, there is no proof that he ever really ever lived
there, although one of the Bethel DAR Chapter had recorded that he was
buried on Concord Rd. in Bethel, Clermont Co., Oh. He and his wife
Mary Osborne Ball appear to have been in Harding Co., VA. before
moving to Bourbon Co., KY. and who knows if they really did or didn't
make it to CC? Or.... was it all the same with different boundary
lines? I'm still studying the State and County boundaries for that
period of time and will be grateful to anyone with information on
them.
