I'm going to post abstracts from the 1836-38 era journal of Dr Wm
Thompson,Sr,of Bethel,Oh to the 198
members of ,and perhaps to OHBROWN-L also,since
the Dr visited patients
as far as RT 774, or sw Pike; w Clark, and nw Lewis Twnsps,Brown.Co. He
visited Bethel,and it's Tate Twnsp,and s Williamsburg Twnsp.Also n
FRANKLIN and Washington Twnsp's in Clermont Co. I'm debating posting
every
name,or just the surnames I hear mentioned.

His son,Dr Wm Eberle Thompson,d 1940+ who practiced medicine past 100
years old in Bethel.The son,Dr
Wm Eberle Thompson,is the one known in local histories.
You can tell many births from the journal, and lingering illness, but not
deaths. You can see some kinships,
and some neighborhoods.
The good Dr pulled a few teeth; did a bit of bleeding; perscribed
quinine,and opium, and bitters, and a "
strength plaster". He sewed up a few wounds,and dressed them. He
built,1834-36 journal, an exsisting
2 story Federal brick on s Main in Bethel [100's block s Main St]. He
wormed kids,and cut gums on youth,
passed out magnesia,bitters,etc.
Very often,1 person picked up medicine for another from his house, or he
visited one patients home in the
country from a sick neighbors.
Neal's Corner,Hamersville,Poetown,Mt Olive,Pt Isabel,Nicholsville,Bantam,
Twin Bridges, Concord,New
Harmony ,Neals Corner are about the range of his calls.Dr Pinkham,at w
Bantam,limited the range west
of Bethel.
