This is what my husband said about Lake Allan.........
Gale Horstmeyer Smith

Yes, It is true, there use to be a power station at the dam on lake allyn on
the Northern side of the lake and was close after a fire in the early 50's.
Also there was a railroad track that ran about 50 yrds west of the lake and
with a train station there also. It was know as the olive branch station. You
can see were the railroad track still go through there just behind lake
allyn. Remember when we were playing paint balls and the little hill, that
was in front of the trucks on Dad's property that used to be part of the RR
tracks that ran through there, the rails are gone but when we were kids
growing up there we used to find railroad spikes all the time. The track was
tore up in the early 60's. All this information came from the Billingsey's
that own the farm around dad's house. There son still (Boyd) still lives in
the little white house in front of dad's. 459
