I confess I do not have a grasp of the way these river routes worked. My
Clermont ggf came from Huttonville, Randolph Co. VA (later WV). His wife
was b. in Greenup Co. KY.
I don't know the exact date, but their first child was b. in Clermont in
1834. What rivers would they have traveled to reach Clermont from their
birthplaces? Family tradition says that he was a "riverboat man". Thanks,
