Sometime back the Clermont Co. Probate Court was extremely helpful in
sending me quite a few pieces of information. I recently asked for 4 items
(all of which should be in abstract form) and sent a check and SASE as I had
done before. I got back a letter (unsigned and undated) today that they no
longer do this and referred me to the Clermont County Genealogical Society which
evidently forwarded my letter on to the Clermont County Public Library.
The library replied on the bottom of the Probate Court letter that I should
review this letter and they then referred me to the Clermont Co. Genealogical
Society.

I understand that the Clermont Co. Genealogical Society is manned by
volunteers (as is every Gen Society that I know of) and that sometimes it takes
several weeks to get a reply which is understood and anticipated. However,
my experience with them has been very poor. I wrote them a letter with
only one item requested. Four months later I had not received a reply, so
I wrote them again. It has been a over year and I still have not received
a response - not even a we don't do that anymore letter.

I live 600 miles from Clermont Co. - does anyone have a suggestion as to
how I migh obtain copies of death and marriage records since the main resources
have seemingly dried up? Any assistance would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

Mary Lu Sanders
