I wanted to pass along a tip regarding the early Ohio tax records.

If you go to the LDS web site at http://www.familysearch.org/, you will find
that they only list the Duplicate tax records for Clermont County for the
years 1826 to 1838. What happens if you are interested in the early years
prior to 1826? If turns out that these are also available on microfilm. To
find them, however, you need to search, not Clermont County, OH, but seach
for the whole state of Ohio, instead (i.e., enter Ohio only in the Place
field). The early tax records from 1801 to 1814 are available. All
counties in the state are on 1 or 2 rolls of microfilm for each year. These
are fantastic resources that are kind of like a year-by-year early census
record. If baffles me, that the LDS Church did not think to cross reference
these to the individual counties.
