I recently received copies of two marriage documents from the Clermont County
Probate Court. The one from 1872 says "that he is not nearer kin to... than second
cousins." But the one from 1867 says "that he is not nearer kin to... than first
cousins. The latter document also had a hand-written consent by the bride's father
because she was under 18.
