How very generous to offer a lookup that will keep you busy for quite a
while! When you have a free moment would you be kind enough to look for
entries that might give information on the following events.....

1) in the year 1880 Charles M. SMITH of Batavia Twp., Clermont Co. Ohio
died in Washington D.C. In his will he requested to be returned for
burial in Citizens' Cemetery in the family plot. A member of the list
very kindly checked the cemetery and was not able to find a tombstone
for him. Possibly the area newspaper made some mention of his death and
eventual burial????

2) Charles M. SMITH (widower) married his second wife Adeline O'CONNOR
of Butler Co. Ohio around 1849-50 is there any mention of the couple in
the newspaper?? I have not been able to find a marriage record for them
and am hoping that it was posted in the news.

Actually any mention of Charles M. SMITH b. 1816 or his family would be
gratefully accepted - he was a resident of Batavia Twp., Clermont Co.
Ohio from at least 1830 to 1870 and served in a number of official
capacities while a resident (teacher, director, mayor, co. auditor, etc).

Thank you,
Susan McIntyre
