Leslie,
While I can appreciate the enormity of such a task as a one-name study of
any name, I strongly feel it is the author's/researcher's responsibility to
ensure the accuracy of anything being produced or published. When errors or
discrepancies are found in anything of mine, I consider it my responsibility
to double-check my source(s) and make the necessary corrections. So while I
did bring the errors I noticed at the time to the attention of you and Ms.
Devine, I did not submit documentation. In addition, with the new laws in
effect here in Ohio regarding vital records, obtaining proof for somebody
else's work (or even your own) can become quite costly.
My only thought here was to reiterate the wisdom of not taking anybody
else's work to be the gospel and for everyone to make sure they prove every
fact for themselves.
