Connie,

Registration of Births were not required by law in Ohio until 1867 and There
is no statewide index to birth records from 1867 through December 19, 1908.
Your best bet in determining written proof is through the Will and Probate
Records. There is a link at the Clermont County OHGenWeb site under Wills &
Probate which will lead you to a site that offers a "Will Indexes By Surname"
for Clermont Co. and instructions on how to obtain copies. That will be your
best proof. Another option which is more difficult is to determine the
Church in which they belong to and check to see if the church has records during
that time period. Again the Wills are your best source in this circumstance.

Trying to find written proof that Abraham Trees (b. 21 Sep 1822 in Clermont
Co., OH) is the son of, Jacob Trees (b.20 May 1791 in PA -d. 28 DEC 1870 in
IN) and his wife, Sally Lemasters (1794-1870) who married in Clermont Co., OH
on 11 Jul 1811. Jacob's father, John Trees died in Clermont Co., OH in 1833.
Are there Ohio birth certificates for 1822? Do you have any other
suggestions?

Thanks,
