hello, Hello,
Well it looks like some of my Trenary's are bur ther.
I have a Emily Smithson who mar a Trenary in mid 1800's there. A Sister
Jermimah ??( on spelling) Smithson also mar a bro, Trenary I believe. I
don't have the imfo in front of me.
Maybe these are descendants as i also remember seeing the name Anchor.
Can you tell or give me more of what you have.
The Smithson girls are sisters to my 2nd grt granmother , Mahala Smithson
born there abt 1814. Another sister , mary Ann Smithson mar a Thorburg in
Randolph Co Ind abt 1835 and ,most likely related to Mr Thornburgh there as
these families were back and forth in both places.

Subject: Update on Achor Cemetery, Green Township

Dear Listers:

Some of you may remember that back in May, I requested
information regarding the Achor Cemetery in Green Township. The cemetery
is located 1/2 mile off Lacy Road and was behind a locked gate and a "No
Trespassing" sign.

This is an update for any of you who are interested. Thanks to
Jan Griffith, Sr., who gave me the name of a local man, Henry Thornburg,
we visited this cemetery on July 3. Mr. Thornburg obtained a key to open
the gate and conducted us down the lane to the large iron gates that open
into the cemetery. Achor Cemetery is a small, peaceful green spot with
woods all around. Mr. Thornburg had informed me earlier that the
township mowed and cared for it, but, frankly, with previous experiences
behind me, I took that information with a grain of salt. How mistaken I
was not to have implicitly believed him.

This cemetery is beautifly maintained, there are several large
and many small stones, most of which can still be read. We located my
husband's great great grandparents, Sarah and Richard Trenary, and
Sarah's parents, John and Catherine Achor, along with several of Sarah's
siblings and their spouses. There are many other stones for individuals
that may or may not be related to us.

Mr. Thornburg is a very nice person with a great deal of local
knowledge. I am very much indebted to Jan Griffith for forwarding his
name to me.

Thanks to all of you who sent me suggestions.

Sincerely, Joy
