The Quakers were, however, located in next door Randolph Co. My Gilpins
bought land there, which I don't think they ever occupied. Joseph Gilpin,
my ancestor, died before he could take physical possession. He was born
Quaker but married contrary to discipline, didn't apologize and be received
back into fellowship. His Quaker male relatives also bought land in
Randolph Co, and most didn't end up there.
Probably land in both counties was sold. Another draw: all the Quakers in
Wayne Co IN
