This discussion is very interesting to me. My German family came from
Rockingham Co., VA in the Brocks Gap area (called little Germany in early times).
They first settled in Fairfield Co., OH c1811 but then moved to Clinton Co. by
1830s. Their children moved on to Grant Co., IN c1850s. Has anyone run
across the surnames Rose, Sirk, Stiles/Styles in their research in these areas?

I'd be real interested in knowing the other surnames that came from
Rockingham, Clinton & Grant.
