Thank you all for your help.

FYI:

Up till the last month I had been doing most of my research in the Ohio
Historical Library in Columbus. Columbiana Co. newspapers are kind of hit and
miss. (Never the ones I am looking for.)

Canton Library has obit indexes from 1956 to present. Very nice library but
they make the copies for you. Cost 15 cents each. They are very friendly and
knowlegeable. They have Canton and the more resent Akron newspapers among
others.

Alliance Library has four great reader/copiers. Cost 20 cents a copy. Some
years are indexed obits on line. Alliance and Sebring papers.

Salem has only one reader/copier in the very small Ohio Room. It was busy
when I was there. Someone has started an index system of obits from the Salem
paper on 3X5 cards. Not much done on it lately and the cards are kinda in
alphabetic order. It is a very do it yourself room.

My next stop in E. Liverpool this week.
