Subject: May Meeting of the Licking County Genealogical Society

For those who reside in Licking County or in surrounding counties or who may be
in the area at the time, the Licking County Genealogical Society will meet Monday,
May 5th at 7 p.m. in the First Floor Meeting Room of the Newark Public Library. The
program for the evening will be "Society of Civil War Families of Ohio - What, Why and
How" presented by Amy Johnson Crow, CG.

Amy Johnson Crow is a Certified Genealogist and native of Ohio. Her activities in the
field of genealogy include her position as third vice president of The Ohio Genealogical
Society, trustee of APG, and chair of First Families of Ohio. She has served NGS as the
chair of the Library and Information Services Task Force. She is a past editor of Ohio
Civil War Genealogy Journal and has had articles published in Ancestry, Heritage Quest,
Genealogical Computing, and the NGS Newsmagazine. Her "Heritage Help" column
appears in the OGS Genealogy News. She serves as series editor for the upcoming NGS
Guides to Genealogical Research series. Amy received the FGS Distinguished Service
Award for her work as state coordinator for Ohio for the Civil War Soldiers System project.
She is a member of the NGS, APG, GSG, and numerous state and county societies.
