Hi all
I sent in a similar query a year ago April with no results and so am
expanding on it. I will be in the area for my high school reunion
(Zanesville) the end of July beginning of August and hope to get in a bit
of genealogy.
I will entertain any suggestions on where to look for these folks. Do the
death certificates give any other info? I got the dates of death from the
book put out by CCCOGS. Are there early directories they might be in?
Joseph D Ludwig born abt 1810 maybe Shenandoah VA died 18 Jan 1898 Coshocton
his wife Sarah Maranda Boude Ludwig born abt 1820 probably Frederick VA
died 13 Jan 1888 Coshocton.
They moved to Coshocton from Preston Co WV after the 1880 census.
A son, A.C. Ludwig [Alva] age 22 was enumerated in Coshocton on the 1880
census with Joseph Pettitt and Alma Matticks {Maddox ??] Pettitt, Clarke
Twp. Joseph the son of George and Sarah Maxon Pettitt Clarke Twp. I see
no connection with any of the other surnames I found in connection with
Maxon/Pettitts, Wood and Carpenter. He may just have been a hired
hand. But it's rather far from Preston Co.
Nobody seems to know where Joseph and Sarah are buried. No obits or so I
am told. Think they were in Clarke Twp. At least that is where Noah
Randles Sr lived. He married their daughter Louise Alberta or Alberta
Louise depending on sources 3 July 1884 as his second wife. She went by
Louise. Their first child, Daisy, was my grandmother.
Is there an obit for Noah Randles Sr.?
Could Joseph and Sarah be buried over in Holmes County?
