If you will go to familysearch.org and then to the search catalog area,
search under surname catagory for Purdy there is a book "History of the
Descendants of Samuel Harper, James Purdy and James Leeper". The book is
on line and you can read it or print it, I believe. These families were
in PA. and my Harper's are in it and are connected to the Purdy family
as well as the Leeper. My branch of the Harper's went to Harrison Co.,
OH. You may find your line of the Purdy family in it.
Good Luck
