Subject: [OHCRAWFO-L] Ohio Census Indexes-look-ups
Date: Tue, 29 Jun 1999 20:53:11 -0700

My local FHC has the following Census Indexes:

OHIO - Early Ohio census index; 1800-Washington Co..; 1810-1860
PA - 1790-1850
NJ - 1830-1860
KY - 1790, 1820-1850

There are some other states as well (I will check if specifically requested), but thought these were fairly pertinent to Ohio and immigration into the state.

I go to the FHC about once every 2 weeks (will be going again the 6th) and am willing to do look-ups-one name per request, please. When possible, it is most helpful if I have a first and last name (especially the early years, when only the head of household is listed), and, where possible, the county, if known.

If your surname is very common, I must have the first and last name. I am unable to photocopy any of the books (FHC rules-it breaks the spines of the books), so all work is transcribed, then sent to you via e-mail, therefore, I will not transcribe pages of "Smith" listings, for example.

Anyway, just thought if I could help in some small way for all the assistance I have received from fellow Ohio researchers, I would be more than happy to help locate that elusive ancestor for others.
