Hi List, Trying to find any info on this Lost Bible. A Granddaughter daughter
of Philip Rumfield, lived in crawford co area in late 1890. Family of Stem.
Hoping a relative may have received this bible. March of 1956 a sanitation
worker by the name of Donald DeForrest found a old family Bible which belonged to
the Rumfield Family, in a junk heap on keen avenue, ashland Ohio. The Bible
was 150 yrs old at that time. Local records do not disclose any rumfield
family left in ashland. but DeForrest is hoping that he can find some surviving
relative who will claim the Bible. Records inside the book show that it was
bought 1833, but the first entry is dated 1782 and the last entry the death of
Philip Rumfield, is dated 1857. DeForrest said, if no one comes forward he would
put up for auction to the highest bidder. Does anyone know or heard of this
family? This is my 4th great Grandparents and they came from pa. His wife lived
in savannah oh and died 1888 at the age of 99 yrs. One son lived in Tiffin
Ohio. That was Hiram and he also died in Ashland Ohio. Any help will be so much
appreciated. Sorry this is so long. Judi
