Fatal Accident

On Wednesday evening last Frederick Hennecke, a resident of Bucyrus and cooper by trade, was instantly killed on the track of the P. Ft. W. & C. R. R. near the Depot, just after dark, by being run over by the wood train going east. The facts are as follows: Deceased was very deaf and had just stepped upon the track and was walking with the back to the train going east when he was struck by the tender of the engine and thrown upon the track and the whole train passed over his body.

Coroner Treman summoned a jury who found a verdict in accordance with the above facts. We understand the deceased left a wife and family to mourn his loss.

Rosana Jobst was born in Schoenan, Saxony, Germany, and was married to Frederick Heinecke in 1850. Three years later they emigrated to this country, locating in this county. Six children were born to this union, four of whom are living, as follows: Mrs. Amelia Stein, Mrs. Peter Sandhammer, Mrs. Hattie Hinkel and F. L. Hennecke.

Her husband was killed in this city being run over by the cars in 1861. The deceased had only been sick about a week, death being due to a severe cold complicated with the infirmities of old age. She was a member of the German Lutheran church and a devoted christian. The sorrowing children have the sympathy of all in their sorrow.
