Thanks to all the wonderful tips and suggestions of list members, we
were able to find a GREAT deal of family history in Cleveland during
Spring Break. Not only did we find lots of good stuff, we met cousins
Jim never knew he had and we have now begun to plan a reunion for the
summer of 1999. It will mark the 125th anniversary of Vaclav Burant and
his family arriving in the USA. We'd like to thank everyone that
suggested resources.

Now, let me tell you what we found!!!

The FAIRVIEW library is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!! They have wonderful new
microfilm machines, a very knowledgeable staff, access to all the LDS
records via a computer set up for the LDS FAMILY SEARCH, (they have
about 50 CD's to search from), City directories and census records,
necrology and marriage records! While we were there using the LDS
system, the newspaper came in to do a story on the fact that they have
such a great geneaology department! WOW! we were sure spoiled!
Fairview lets you make as many copies from the LDS records or the
microfilm reader as you need, AT NO CHARGE!!!! It is a trade off, when
you go to the Western Reserve Library, they charge $6.00 per person plus
parking, they have many, many more resources but the machines are not
electric and they charge 50 cents per copy.
If I was going to do this again, I'd go to the Western Reserve, get the
page #'s from the soundex files and then look up the actual census
records on the state of the art machines at the Fairview library and
make free copies!

All in all it was GREAT!!!!
