Am seeking information on the following family group that lived in the
City of Cleveland:
Michael Steinacker b. 17 July 1817 Bavaria(?) d. 27 April 1884 m. 30
March 1849 to Caroline Weitzel b. 8 Sept.1829 d.20 April 1909.
Children: Lena b. 1/21/1851 d. 3/18/1928
Charles b. 4/15/1853 d. 10/18/1873
Kate b. 1854 or 1860 (records differ) m. Karow
Mary b. 2/22/1853 d. 2/23/1936
Caroline b. 1858 d. 1/25/1935
Kate b. abt 1860
John b. 9/16/1866 d. 6/20/1874
Fred b. 1/21/1869 d. 7/16/1876
Frank b. abt 1870
Ida b. abt 1872
George b. 1/1/1865 d. 8/11/1866
This entire family (except those with no death date recorded)is buried
in Lake View Cem. in Cleveland. The early interments had been original
in the Erie St. Cem and were moved in 1928 with funds from the Caroline
Weitzel Steinaker estate. Also moved into the same family plot at Lake
View were: William B. Weitzel b. 7/21/1790 d. 1/16/1874 (stone says
Father) and Catherine (Katrina) b. 11/01/1800 d. 1/12/1875 (stone says
Mother). According to the highly illegible photocopy I have,
Catherine's maiden name was possibly Stevenagel.
This family lived in Cleveland since at least the early 1850's. I
have found Michael in the Cleveland directories (under many different
spellings) since about that time. He is listed as carpenter, and the
family owned property on Lake St.
Any information or leads on this family would be appreciated.
Thanks, Rut
