Dear List,

My g-grandfather, William James Snell or Schnell, was born 10 Jul 1851
to Henry and Catherine Sheldon Snell or Schnell. Henry and Catherine
have a recorded marriage date of 3 Apr 1851. William James was born in
Buckeye. Where is Buckeye? I have not found it on any maps.

The 1850 Census shows Henry Schnell as a loborer, age 22 (his birth is
recorded in the LDS IGI as 1824, but that would make him 26 or 27) from
NY. He was born in Mannheim, Herkimer, NY. There are records of some
Sheldons also on the Census. If any of this looks familiar let me know.
