For the person that found the Civil War discharge papers: I recently
inherited a very large box of old photographs. Fortunately, the woman to whom
they originally belonged ( she died in 1945) had carefully labelled them all
with names and dates. I sorted them and posted messages to the applicable
rootsweb mailing lists that I wanted to return these pictures to descendandts.
You might do the same. Post a message to the Crosby list asking for a
descendant of that person to contact you.
