Hi Everyone,
I'm perplexed about this matter, being two hours outside of Cleveland I
always call to find out the research method so as not to waste my time
and theirs. I called last February and was told to put my name on a list
because Spring was a very busy time of the year for them and there was
already a 3 month waiting period. I opted against that. My cousin came
in from Seattle last August and went there on a lark and was told she
also needed an appointment. My sister-in-law two months ago went to get
her own 1946 birth certificate(certified) and was told to send to
Columbus for it-and she was born in Cleveland Proper. I can't figure out
why there are two sides of the story. Perhaps whoever has the best 'in'
at Vital Statistics can help others out. I pay $3.18 for one through
Ohio Historical Soceity-the early ones and a nickel for the later ones
through the Health dept. in Columbus but it is a couple months wait.
Take care,
Cindy
