What are necrology cards? I, too, am having difficulty figuring out a way to
find my relatives who lived in the Cleveland area in the 1890s and early
1900s. Their names were Alfred and Harriet Davies and I do know from the
census (1910) that they lived
at 4301 Coit Avenue in Cleveland. I have tried to order the marriage
certificates for both of Harriet's marriages and was told they couldn't be
found. I have tried to find her death certificate, but don't know when she
died. I tried the online death index, but the one I requested turned out to
be that of a baby's. I know Harriet's four children's names, but they are
very common names so difficult to research:
George Davies, born about 1897
Doris Davies
>From her first marriage to Charles Sherman:
Grace H. Sherman, born 1889, married George Whalen
Hazel I. Sherman, born 1891, married someone Graham
Perhaps these "necrology" cards would be helpful to me?
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joy Goowin
