Dear Listers:
My Johnsons have been all over the area as well as the spelling.
Recently I have learned that they were in Cleveland in 1870. Here's the
backtrack:
My great-great grandfather Hiram Johnson traveled everywhere it seems.
He was supposedly born in OH in 1822, although I haven't located where
yet. He married Anna Maria Fink in Canfield, OH in 1849. They were in
Warren, OH in 1850. They went to Coldwater, MI by 1857. I was stuck
there until I found that one of the daughters, Emma married Thomas Davey
in Cleveland in 1872 and hence found the family in Cleveland in 1870.
A family letter (coincidentally written by Emma Davey) states that there
is a Johnson lot in the Woodland Cemetery. I'm now hoping that it's the
one in Cleveland and have sent queries. I haven't heard anywhere how
much they charge for searches. Does anyone know? It's been a while and
I haven't heard back through my SASE how much they want to do the
search.
Thanks for any help.
