Just a note to advise that the "University Heights" and "Cleveland Heights" mentioned in Bob Ward's great email about Emanuel Evangelical Church are NOT the same area of Cleveland that currently bears those names.
The area of Emanuel Evangelical is West 14th and Starkweather Avenue, west of the Cuyahoga River, in a neighborhood called Tremont. Both streets can be found easily on a street map. There is a University Ave. there, along with streets named Literary, College, and Professor. There may have been other such names before the numbered streets were renamed in 1906.
The areas now called University Heights and Cleveland Heights are individual, contiguous cities east of the city of Cleveland and not connected in any way with the W. 14/Starkweather area. University Heights is the home of John Carroll University, probably how it was named.
