Subject: [OHCUYAHO-L] Joseph Lawson WEATHERLY Cemetery Lookup
Date: Mon, 09 Jul 2001 16:21:00 -0400

Hi, Folks...

December 9, of last year, I asked for a possible lookup in a cemetery.
Is anyone able to do this lookup, who is currently on this list?

An excerpt:

"There is a Joseph L. Weatherly buried in Erie Street Cemetery in
Cleveland, although the birth year is 1807, the death year in 1866.
He was the founder and first president of the Cleveland Chamber of
Commerce from 1848 to 1863. The records for Erie Street Cemetery
are at Highland Park Cemetery."

Thanks for any help. This is very important to me, since Joseph is
reputed to have buried, not only his wife in the family vault, but also
all 7 children! This is taken from a letter of a Weatherly descendant
who was a civil war lawyer:

"Joseph L. Weatherly Son of David & Mary
Weatherly was born Nov. 1, 1806--and departed
this life at Buffalo January 29, 1866 in his 60th
Year. His remains were interred in his family
vault in Cleveland Ohio."

My Brother Joseph L had previously buried his
Wife and all his Children.- David Weatherly, Jr., a Philadelphia
attorney, in his letter to J.S. Benner & Co., dated May 1, 1871

The Encyclopedia of Cleveland History (online) mentions Joseph in
two locations:

(about his founding the Insurance Board of Greater Cleveland)

and

The Cleveland Fire Department
(the first fireboat named the Joseph L Weatherly)

Thanks,
Vince Summers
