Greetings,
If every county in every state were as helpful as Cuyahoga County, we would
all be happy campers indeed. Unfortunately this is not the case. Cuyahoga
County is exceptional. I figure they either have some folks in local
government jobs who believe in the availability of genealogical information
to the masses or else they have a terrific Genealogical Society there who
are willing volunteers and who help enter the data into computer databases.
I have a number of website links which may prove helpful to you. If you
would like me to send you the entire list (it is quite long) or just for
specific states...just let me know. I have them listed Alphabetically so
that it is easy to simply find and click for access to the website. I will
happily send a copy to anyone who wants it in part or in it's entirety. I
can only send it as a attachment. Attachments are not allowed on Rootsweb
Mailing Lists. So anyone who wants it will have to let me know so that I
can send it to your personal e-mail address.
I keep my personal copy in a computer file folder called Alphabetical
Websites, under the Inbox listing on my Outlook Express Desktop. I keep
another copy in the Draft file so I can add new ones as I find them, and
Update the entire list weekly.

As a new researcher I have received very valuable and kind help from
people out there on this list. Thank you all. Please help me with
this question: Other than the Social Security Death Index is there a
way of finding names of possible ancestors from other states? In
order to obtain from the Vital Statistics folks I need date of death.
The Cleveland Necrology File is wonderful. That type list would be
great. Are newspapers in distant locations helpful?
