Maybe I have just been very lucky, but I order various things from them on
nearly a weekly basis and have always received a very quick response.
I nearly always use the online form and receive the information within a week
or two, with a bill for a small fee for whatever I received. They email me
if they are unable to assist -- I think that only happened once or twice.
They have even sent forms that I need to request additional information from
NARA when the request had to do with naturalization papers.
My friend did send a request by snail mail and after a couple of weeks I had
her resubmit the request using the online form and she then received the
information quickly, although we are not certain which request the
information was an answer to.
I hope the new year brings a better response,
