Subject: [OHCUYAHO] Location of Property records ca. 1890s

Hello All,

I am seeking property records (e.g. ownership history, maps citing location, purchase price and sale etc.) for property owned ca. 1890s in Cuyahoga County. Can anyone point me in the direction of where in Cuyahoga Co. I should inquire/write for this information?

The properties in question (in one case 30 acres, the other 12 acres) were located in both Euclid Village and East Cleveland, Cuyahoga County in the 1890-1910 timeframe.

Would these public records, which trace the properties history, be found in the Cuyahoga County Recorder's Office, the Cuyahoga County Auditor's Office, Assessor's Office or in some other county office? Has anyone had any success obtaining this type of information and is it best to make the request via postal channels or visit the office in person?

Since I am located some distance from the Cleveland area I may have to put this research on my wish list until a later date.

Many thanks for any help,

Bette
