TWO SPECIAL EVENTS AND AN INVITATION
On Saturday July 16 at the Akron-Summit County Public Library, 60 S. High
Street, Akron, OH there will be two events to which the public is invited.
At 10 a.m. anyone interested in learning more about the Board for
Certification of Genealogists and the certification process is welcome to
come to this Q and A conducted by Elissa Scalise Powell, CGRS. The exact
requirements for the process will be presented along with an open
discussion. Other topics concerning professional genealogists may be
discussed in our time together including marketing yourself, client reports,
and professional education opportunities. For more information contact Bob
Keener or Elissa Powell
At 1 p.m. the Summit County Chapter, Ohio Genealogical Society will have
their meeting and program. "Rubik's CubeR Genealogy: A New Twist on Your Old
Data" will be presented by Elissa Scalise Powell, CGRS. Twisting your data
through the three dimensions of source, geography and chronology lets you
perceive holes and discrepancies, and allows you to see further clues and
conclusions you may have missed before. Some of the items to be discussed
are: timelines, genograms, lineage society applications, land platting, and
writing the family narrative. First Families of Western Pennsylvania lineage
program will also be discussed with the membership requirements. For more
information please contact Donna Wurm
