Hi! This my first try at you folks. I am trying to get information on the Johan Wunderle-Tressel family from East Cleveland and the Vincent Kelemen (Maybe Vinze) family from West Cleveland. I have a lot of info on the Wunderle"s prior to 1850 but nothing on the Kelemens. All I know is Vincent (Vinze) married Mary Schwartz who was born 8/8/1889

Just another one of the many wonderful things I have learned from this website.

The census will also tell you (if the person is divorced), if they tell the enumerator they put a
numeral behind the M very helpful it is

Sandy, I couldn't find any Holmden families in the 1850 census except one living in Michigan with none of the names you mentioned. The following listing; however, holds some possibility.

1850 Tionesta, Venango, PA (all three are on the same page)

Thos. Homden age 32 Farmer b. England
Sarah " age 32 b. PA
Albridge ? " age 8
Lucy " age 6
Eliza " age 4
Henry C. " age 3

Walter Homden age 26 Farmer b. England
Philena " age 25 b. NY

John Hamden age 25 Farmer b. England
Betsy " age 19 b. NY
Sarah " age 62 b. England

Hope this helps,
Penny

Could someone with access to the 1850 census on ancestry.com please
look up the names Walter HOLMDEN, Thomas HOLMDEN, and possibly
Charles HOLMDEN. They were originally residents of Cornplanter,
Venango County, Pennsylvania before moving to Cleveland around 1865.

The closest I could find are:

1850 - Tionesta Township of Venango County, Pennsylvania, page 222b, lines
15-20
hh of Thos & Sarah Holmden includes Lucy Jane age 6 on line 18 and Eliza
age 4 on line 19

1860 - Allegheny Township of Venango County, Pennsylvania, page 6, lines 33-40
hh of Thos & Sarah Holmden includes L J age 15 [female] on line 37 and
Eliza age 14 on line 38

L J age 15 is the Lucy Jane of the 1850 census. She married Abraham
Prather. I don't have anything on Eliza other than an approximate
year of birth. Maybe Lyde was her middle name. Thomas was later to
be the guardian of his deceased brother's two children, Edwin and
Lydia. Lydia is also a candidate for the Lyde I'm looking for.

Thanks for finding those enteries for me.

Sandy

Subject: request for tombstone picture

Is there anyone that would be interested in taking a tombstone picture in Lake View Cemetery? I'm looking for the stone of Emma Gurney, died May 14, 1931. Her husband was Alvin Gurney. The Lake View office confirmed that they are buried there. I don't know the exact location. I will pay any costs incurred. Thank you, Debbie

Subject: [OHCUYAHO] Knollwood Cemetery Tombstone Picture Needed

Dear List Members,

I need some help obtaining a picture of a tombstone of my
great-grandmother buried in Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights, Ohio
(Cleveland). I have the Section, Lot, and grave number, but living in
Alabama I can't get up there to see if a tombstone is on her grave or
not. If so, I'd love to have a picture of it for my records. If not, I'd
love to have it marked with the help of her descendants. If anyone lives
in the area and is familiar with Knollwood, it would mean so much to me
if I could get a digital image of the gravesite e-mailed to see if a
marker is there. None of my family here in Alabama knows anything about
her grave. She is Harriett Martha "Hattie" Johnston (nee Wilson). She is
buried on the East side of Section 21, grave number 218 in Knollwood
Cemetery. She was born on August 19, 1871 and died July 24, 1947.

Thank you so much for any assistance offered.

God Speed!

Robert Johnston
Wetumpka, Alabama

Subject: Re: What is a "Cheat Sheet?"

A cheat sheet is a listing of the information that you think might be on
a test in school. You sneak it in and cheat on the test. Not a good
thing to do. The idea is that you don't have to memorize this list of
information to accomplish the goal. We often prepare items to post for
ourselves near our computer so we don't have to memorize the information,
but have it handy. I have sticky notes with the dates of the censuses,
my library card numbers, and the codes for diacritical marks, for
instance. The list of marriage volumes is a sort of cheat sheet if you
print it out to have handy when you are working with the marriage index.
It is not technically cheating, but you get the idea.
