BINGO!!! There is with out a doubt that your Henry Cryder Hardin had some kind of connection to the family of Ichabod COLE. Check out the COLE and HARDIN burials that is in the Cole/Hardin Cemetery in Liberty Township, Delaware County, Ohio.

Cole, Elizabeth --/--/1788 07/26/1875
Cole, Elizabeth Ann 09/06/1839

Hardin, Caroline 07/12/1828 06/24/1911
Hardin, Dewey --/--/1893 --/--/1900
Hardin, Henry Creter (Cryder?) 08/16/1848 09/09/1934
Hardin, Ichabod E. 07/30/1864 07/02/1940
Hardin, Isaac 10/07/1823 01/31/1912
Hardin, Mary Clementine 03/17/1868 06/21/1943

The Ichabod COLE buried in this cemetery was the s/o John Cole and Susannah Salisbury from Washington County, Ohio. Ichabod and John, Jr. were the two sons who settled in Delaware Co.

In 1820 Ichabod & John's niece, Sylvina GREENE (mother: Elizabeth COLE Greene) and her husband, Joel DODGE were also living in Liberty Township, Delaware Co., Ohio. But by 1840 Sylvina and Joel Dodge were back in Washington County, Ohio. About the year of 1854 they headed west and settled in Brookfield, LaSalle Co., Illinois, where they both died and is buried in the Maxton Cemetery there.

Another neice of Ichabod and John COLE was the sister of Sylvina Greene DODGE. Her name was Harriet GREENE (mother: Elizabeth COLE Greene). She married Samuel HARDEN on October 28, 1824 in Washington County, Ohio. In 1830 and 1840 they were living in Liberty Township, Delaware County, Ohio. By 1850 they are in Grand Rapids Twp., LaSalle County, Illinois. Here is the information obtained from the 1850 census for them:

1850 Census, Grand Rapids, LaSalle Co., Illinois Sept. 24, 1850
Saml. HARDEN 49 Farmer Vt.
Harriet 49 Ohio
Wallace 15 Ohio
Oliver 15 Ohio
Saml. 13 Ohio

I believe that Joel and Sylvina DODGE and the brother of Sylvina and Harriet's whose name was Willard GREENE, Jr. all went to LaSalle Co., Illinois to be close to their Aunt Harriet and Uncle Samuel Harden.

If anyone can establish a connection with Samuel HARDEN and Henry Cryder HARDIN, please let Jennifer Houchin and I know.
