Hi Peggy, we may be cousins also. My gg-grandfather Jeremiah Williams was born in CT about 1793. At some point he migrated to Ohio. He married Lavinia Carpenter in Franklin County, Ohio in 1821. He also purchased two pieces of land in Delaware and settled there for a few years. I have him in the adjoining Knox County in the 1830 census. I've always felt he probably came with relatives.(brothers cousins, etc) He apparently had a brother named John but I don't have absolute proof yet. His parents were probably Jeremiah Williams and Amy Knight who were born in RI. I don't have absolute proof of his parents but the evidence suggests that they were his parents. Nathan Carpenter who was the first settler in Delaware County was related to Jeremiah's wife, Lavinia Carpenter Williams. Jeremiah and family migrated to Texas about 1836. I was wondering if you see a possibility of a connection with your Williams. It would seem that there would almost have to be a connection with there be!
ing so few people in Delaware County at that time.
Thanks,
Roger Williams
