If you are a female age 10 years of age and up, are a direct descendant of a Union Civil War veteran, or a Union Civil War nurse, or if you are a niece of a Civil War veteran, you may be eligible for membership in the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic. The LGAR is the oldest organization for women in the United States and the only organization that may use the name of the Grand Army of the Republic.
