Lucile Orwig
Friday, May 21, 1999
OAK HARBOR -- Lucile B. Orwig, 89, of Oak Harbor, died Thursday, May 20,
1999, at Riverview Nursing Home, Oak Harbor.
She was born Dec. 13, 1909, in Seneca County, and had lived in Oak
Harbor since 1947. She was a retired employee of Gordon Lumber Co., Oak
Harbor, and an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak
Harbor, where she was a member and past president of Afternoon Guild and
past president of Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of William
Myers Chapter 196 and Order of the Eastern Star, McCutcheonville, Ohio.
She is survived by one son, Delbert Orwig of Vermilion; one daughter,
Shirley McNutt of Oak Harbor; one foster brother, Melvin Rinker of
Tiffin; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Orwig on May 4,
1985, whom she married May 29, 1931, at Fireside Reformed Church,
Bellevue; her parents, John and Clara (Boomershine) Stever; and one
sister, Catherine Swander.
Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Crosser Funeral Home, 301 N.
Locust St., Oak Harbor, where the family will be present from 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the
Rev. Roddy Dunkerson officiating.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. Paul
United Church of Christ.
