I just joined the list. A group of us are doing research on this line.

on 1870 Berlin twp census:

Knapp, David, 67, farmer, b. NY
-----, Amanda, 68, keeping house, b. CT
Scoville, Ruth, 90, born CT

Is this the *same* David Knapp that died 23 Feb. 1872, Berlin Twp? LDS gives his wife as Lucinda______. Possible Amanda died after census was taken and he remarried. Lucinda was b. 1790 in Mass.

We are trying to prove that the above named Amanda was Amanda Scoville, bapt July 1802 in Norfolk, CT, daughter of Ira Scoville and Ruth______. Ira b. 1766; Ruth about 1775. Ira and Ruth removed from CT to Tompkins Co. NY in 1816, then to Rochester, Loraine Co. Ohio in about 1835. It would seem probable that the Amanda m. to David was the same Amanda born to Ruth Scoville & Ira Scoville.

Any descendants out there? Or anyone that can check records?
Ruth Scoville, d. 1871 age 96 in Berlin Twp.

Any help greatly appreciated.
