The speaker for our Meeting last Monday was Dennis McMullen, Head of
Reference at the Library & the Follet House Museum. He showed us floor
plans for the Library after the addition and the remodeling of the old
section is completed. The area looks to be great for quiet research -
something that has been lacking for years! However we still have to
wait before all this is finished. The whole Library is tentatively
scheduled to be closed for 3 weeks in June to facilitate the move of
everything into the addition. The old building will then be remodeled -
which will take many weeks to complete. Sometime in the Fall that will
be finished and things will be moved to where they will be permanently.
Those of you who live at a distance should know that there will be
closings during the above moves, so be sure and contact the Library to
see whether they will be open if you are planning a research trip.
Also noteworthy is that many of the genealogy resources which have been
in storage in the basement for several years will now be brought back
out for use!!!
