Companies have found that when they give something away they make more
money. Look at Ancestry.com, for example.

Because of free lookups, many genealogists will be aware of your
publications. They wouldn't have even known they existed before.

They are also much more likely to purchase them when they know their
ancestor is in the book.

Have your society sales increased or decreased because of free lookups?
Or is it too soon to tell?
