My apologies to members of this list for using it in lieu of private e-mail,
but my private e-mail kept coming back from the post office.

Harry,
Thank you for your suggestions. I have looked at several family histories
written by Ira Landis but not the Family Reunion Reports. I will check that
out, along with the work by Strassburger.
Right now I'm at a little bit of a brick wall on my Landis line. My
greatgrandfather, Jacob Landes, was born in Fairfield County, OH in 1820,
married in Pickaway County in 1843, and died in Leavenworth County, KS in
1865. I know that his father's name was Joseph. I'm still in the process of
trying to prove he was one and the same as the Joseph Landes who was in the
1850 census for Pickaway County. I'm hoping there might be an obituary for
him in the Religious Telescope.
By the way, my cousin is just starting to research his own family lines. His
great grandfather's name was Daniel C. Coons. Daniel was said to be born in
Germany. At that time, his family's name may have been spelled Kuntz or
Kunz. He married a woman named Ella (last name unknown) in Kent, Indiana,
and they had a daughter named Cordia. Sorry, I don't have any dates. I
thought there might be a remote chance that you saw a connection here.
Cordia married a man named Luther Trapp, and they farmed near Valley Falls,
KS.
Thanks again for your suggestions on the Landis family.
