Hi List,
I have a few questions for the Fairfield Guru's.
I have retraced the families to Fairfield Co. arriving around 1810/20. I am
having problems with the birth of Otho Fox.
His tombstone says he was born in 1824, His military records say 1820, the
census -(done in Fairfield) says 1817. The only clues I have are that the
marriage between him and Susan Ritner was signed by William
Pennabaker(grandson to Abraham Ream) - he was in Berne twp according to the
history of Fairfield and Perry Co. book. in a church 2 miles north of Sugar
Grove.
The only Fox in Berne twp. in 1820 was John Fox.
I have ordered the church records from LDSfor 1806-1829 and 1806-1865 but
most of the books that are listed in Persi and on the LDS they say they can
not get.
After all this here is my question-
How can I get information on Church records - baptisms etc for Fairfield
county and if so what information would be there? Is there another source
that I have overlooked for that time period?
My Fowler's - Robert M. and Margaret Baker married in 1827 - they had eight
children in Fairfield - would they also be in the records? These records do
not specify which type of church ( the ones I ordered) Are there records for
individual denominations.?
