Subject: [OHFAIRFI-L] Death certificates?

My question is a generic Ohio question, not just a Fairfield co one. Am
doing research on my son-in-law's family, and his great grandfather
disappeared into Ohio (leaving wife and child behind in PA) sometime
between 1930 and 1942. I would like to get a death certificate.

I think I have found him on the SSDI. No county listed, Edgar Reffner died
November 1963 in Ohio, SS issued in PA. No county of death or last payment
location is listed. The birth date is also close from the marriage record
here. If he's 'our' Edgar, he was born in Altoona, PA (in 1890 according to
marriage record, in 1885 according to SSDI) to David and Madeline Powell
Reffner. The reason I am ignoring the discrepancy in birth dates is that he
was 18 years older than his bride according to the marriage record, 5 years
might have been a fudge factor? The bride lied about her age on the
marriage certificate, making herself 21 when she was only 18!

Do I have enough info to order a death certificate for him? If so, is there
one way to order them that is cheaper than another?

Any assistance appreciated, and thanks in advance,
