Subject: [OHFAIRFI-L] Cemetery Help - Hanna(h) Koontz
Date: Mon, 28 Jan 2002 20:41:41 -0800
Hanna Koontz shows up on the 1820 census for Hocking Twp., Fairfield
County. Her age category is 45 years plus. Two adult males are living
with her. I believe these may be older sons. Two other sons, Samuel
and Isaac have their families there also.
In 1830 Hanna is no longer listed and one of her older sons is listed as
head of his own household, (in addition to Samuel and Jacob) so I am
assuming that Hanna died between 1820 and 1830.
The best I can figure from land records and looking at maps they lived
near Hamburg in Hocking Township.
I believe that Hanna's husband's name was John Koontz/Koon/Coons/Coon,
etc., and may have died in Clearcreek Twp prior to the family moving to
Hocking Twp in 1813.
Can anyone tell me if John or Hanna or Hannah Koontz/ Koon/ Coons/Coon
(all common spellings for my family at that time) is buried in the
area? Any other information would also be welcome.
Thanks,
Raymond Coon
