First, I'd like to again thank those on the list who looked for Spitlers in the 1860 census.
Does anyone have any info about Warren Spitler b. ca 1783, who lived in Amanda? I do know he was NOT, if the 1850 census is correct where he says he was born in Germany, a part of the large Spitler family in Pleasant that came from VA and immigrated to America in the 1736.
This is pretty much all I know about him .
1820 Fairfield Co. Census - Clear Creek
1830 Fairfield Co. Census - Amanda (1m 10-15, 1m 40-50, 1f 15-20, 1f 40-50)
1840 Fairfield Co. Census - Amanda 1m 50-60, 1f 50-60)
1850 Fairfield Co. Census - Amanda (age 67, in household with son, John and daughter-in- law Laura, wife deceased)
>From the Fairfield Co. site, I found the following:
SPITLER, Worders?//HANDSHIN, Kitty; license 14 Mar 1807; PAA-29 [SPITLER, Warren//HANDBEW, Kitty]
"Some of the early settlers of Amanda Twp. were Warren Spitler, William Ward, Frederick Leathers, William Hamilton, Thomas Barr, John..."
Is Kitty Spitler or Warren listed in the Amanda Cemetery?
Any bit of information about Warren Spitler would be greatly appreciated.
Gale
