Hi: I am new to this list so will tell you what I am researching. I have
been researching Charles Henry Junk for 25 years, he being my great
grandfather. I have never found his parents and am requesting help or
suggestions. Charles Henry Junk stated in his Civil War pension application
that he was born in Fayette county, Ohio, near Chillicothe in 1834. Family
records state he lost his parents at an early age.He traveled from Ohio to
Clayton, Illinois with the Motter wagon train in 1854. He married Anna
Merida Motter in Adams county, Illinois on September 1, 1855. Anna Merida
Motter was the daughter of Jonathan Motter and Elizabeth Holloway. On
August 9th, 1862 he volunteered and was in Company E, 119th Illinois
infantry, participating in the Civil War, having entered from Brown county,
Illinois. I have written for many years to different places in Ohio
requesting information on hm or his parents, but have never been fortunate
enough to find anything. He is found in the 1850 Ohio census, living alone.
Any suggestions or help would be gratefully received. Thank you. Pearla
Benjamin
