The reason I am looking for the Disciple Church is that I received the following reply to another query I sent out:
"In the History of Fayette county OH I did find a great little note of
John Grove
I hope someone there has already sent this to you:
John Grove
John Grove, miller, Milledgeville, is a son of John and Anna Grove, and
was born in Fayette county OH May 14, 1840, where he was reared. In 1862
he went to Clinton county, and remained there until 1872, which time was
spent farming and milling. He was married in December of 1872 to Miss
Jennie Baschore, of Clinton county, who has borne him four children:
Sarah E; Oliver;
Henry and Zella, all living. On coming to this place, (Jasper township)
Mr Grove,
engaged in milling and continues in the business very successfully. Mrs
Grove is a member of the Disciple Church. This is one of Jasper Townships
most highly respected families, who have many warm friends. "
My husband is the GGgrandson of John, and Ggrandson of Oliver, and I am trying to track down marriage, birth/baptism, death/burial records and was hoping there might be church records out there somewhere, as Fayette Co, as well as Clinton County do not appear to have any (at least that they can find). I would like to give you more to go on, but this is all I have.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for the phone numbers and addresses! Is there anyway to find out if either of these churches was the Disciple Church? Thanks again!
