Your post mentions Elijah Allen. There were two or three of them contemporarily in Fayette in the mid-nineteenth century, but one named Joseph Elijah Allen married an ancestral cousin of mine, Ella Catherine Kinkead. I don't know much about Elijah but I know Ella's ancestors and I have info on their descendants, if you think you might be related. I'd really like to find out more about the Allen side.
