Re: St. Joseph Academy

As a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, I, too, am
interested in the old school and the sisters.
The Sixth and Rich St. building is now home, I believe, to
classrooms of Franklin University. An old
building or two was razed. I remember when there were big old
houses around the school -- in the
1960s. They were slums then which vagrants frequented, but one
could tell they were once
beautiful. The architecture appeared to be turn-of-the century.
It's a shame they weren't preserved.
I believe Holy Cross Church is still there. Retirement apartments,
too, are in the neighborhood. I'll
be visiting Columbus in a few weeks -- the first time in several
years -- and will pay a visit to the old
neighborhood. Cross Currents, a publication of the Notre Dame
motherhouse in Cincinnati,
featured SJA in it current issue. The sisters are still engaged in
diocesan work.
